Governed by provincial and federal laws, agencies store and maintain credit information about individuals for use by members of the credit reporting agency, such as banks, auto leasing companies, retailers, etc. The two major credit reporting agencies in Canada are Equifax Canada Inc., and Trans Union , Inc. Credit reporting agencies are also known as Credit Bureaux.
